Marte is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a bachelor in commerce, a design certification from Sheridan College and has attended George Brown College for wine certification.

This is Marte’s 3rd business and the one she is most passionate about.  She has been learning about wines for over 30 years and has travelled around the world to discover wines and their terroir.  She returned to school to continue her education of wine.  There are always new wines to discover and the education continues every day.

In the past, Marte has created interiors, designed furniture and was involved in the commercial fabric with furniture manufacturers across Canada for over 15 years.  As a national sales manager, Marte understood the importance of client relations and client retention.  Now, she has blended both the client retention and her knowledge of wine to create SommEvents.  What a great way to follow your passions.
