I believe that everyone possesses the strength to make a change – whether it be big or small. From drinking out of reusable water bottles, to using skincare products with minimal harmful ingredients, to eliminating particular foods from a diet.
I’m a naturopathic doctor practising at Aspire Health in the Bloor West Village located in Toronto. I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I spent 12 months as an intern practising at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, as well as the LAMP Community Health Centre. Furthermore, I was selected as an intern on the highly competitive pediatric-focused shift, where I worked exclusively with children and new and expecting moms; as well as received further education about common childhood ailments.
I chose naturopathic medicine, because its principle of healing the whole person resonated with me. And as a teen, I suffered from anxiety and I wasn’t sure of what could effectively “cure” my symptoms. Naturopathic medicine broadened my horizon, so to speak, and showed me that understanding the relationship between emotional, environmental, and mental factors, could in fact be more efficacious than a pill to quell my symptoms.
As a naturopathic doctor, I take the time to listen to my patient’s concerns and symptoms, so I can discover the root cause of their illness. Everything is discussed – diet, gut health, exercise, environmental exposures, past medical concerns and treatment, allergies, current medications, genetic predispositions, social health, sexual health, stress, mood, and immunity. Together we review their health goals and and I begin to formulate an individualized plan using specific natural agents, and diet and lifestyle changes. Moreover, I love to educate my patients so they can take an active role in their health, and feel empowered to make the necessary changes to live the best life possible.
I focus my practise on women’s health including perinatal care and hormonal concerns, children’s health, weight management, and stress & anxiety.
